Mingo Rajandi

SOOLO concerts

On Sunday 4 December at 4pm the rooms of the Tallinn Art Hall will be filled with the spectacular sound of contrabass, as Mingo Rajandi will be giving a concert as part of the SOOLO concert series.

Mingo Rajandi is a composer, contrabassist and bandleader, who considers music primarily as an opportunity to communicate and exchange ideas with people through the language of sound. Since he mostly plays in larger ensembles and creates music for collectives that use different instruments that together create an endless array of colours and sounds, a solo concert provides the fascinating challenge of instigating a dialogue with only his own instrument, the audience and maybe other art works within the space. Mingo has studied both classical and jazz music; however, he is striving towards a sound that would surpass the bounds of styles and genres.

Mingo is the founder of the boutique agency Avarus and artistic director of Avarus Ensemble. He is also a member of Trio Maag, Verbarium and Heliotroop.

The SOOLO concert series takes place in collaboration with the Tallinn Art Hall.

Concerts are curated by Robert Jürjendal.

Entrance with a valid exhibition ticket.
