Interpretation Celebration

We adapt to all age groups from toddlers to seniors.

Subject: Various possibilities of experiencing and interpreting artworks

Arts vocabulary: printmaking, painting, photography, video, sculpture, installation and various art techniques represented in the exhibition

Duration 60-90 minutes, depending on the wishes of the group

Spring Exhibition brings us an abundance of ideas and techniques. This allows us to experiment with different ways of interpreting artworks, from theoretic to playful meaning making. Through creating personal connections with the artists, we aim to encourage students to explore art galleries independently. We use the VTS (Visual Thinking Strategies) method, which improves critical thinking skills through teacher-facilitated discussions of visual images. We challenge ourselves: in how many different ways can we experience art? We will stand really close to the artwork and then view it from afar. We will have our eyes wide open and squinting. What happens when we look at it only for a few seconds? What changes when we immerse ourselves in it for longer?

We will give voice to the artworks by letting them move us. Practical creative assignment: participants can recreate their favorite artwork in their chosen medium – as a dance or a poem, through sound or drawing.

NB! Also suitable for playful adults.

Our gallery is open to the general public from 11am to 6pm. As Kunstihoone is following 2+2 and 25% capacity guidelines, we are not able to accommodate groups larger than 9 participants during opening hours. We welcome (larger than 9) student groups before opening from 9 – 11am (Tuesday to Friday (ENG), Monday to Friday (RUS).
