Raun Juurikas

SOOLO concert

On Sunday, 3 December at 4 pm the innovative jazz pianist and electronic musician Raun Juurikas will perform in the SOOLO concert series at Tallinn Art Hall.

 

Raun Juurikas has studied classical and jazz piano and graduated from the Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre in Composition. As a composer, musician and music arranger with an extremely wide profile, he is known for his extremely gripping electronic worlds of sound. His idiosyncratic sound palette can be recognized in the creation of various well-known Estonian collectives. Representative to any creator with a curious mind, Raun sees himself more as a conveyor of music.

Raun’s creative challenges include composing for various musical groups from a wide range of fields including: contemporary academic music, jazz, ambient, hip hop, reggae, dub, experimental electronics, funk etc. In addition, his activities include programming to order in a DSP modular environment, designing interactive sound environments, original soundtracks for a couple of documentary films, sound design for a landscape installation, creating playlists, concerts with contemporary academic music groups and pedagogical work.

 

SOOLO concerts take place in collaboration with Tallinn Art Hall, and curator Robert Jürjendal.
