Krista Citra Joonas

SOLO concert

Tallinn Art Hall presents Krista Citra Joonas, who will perform her enchanting music on the bamboo flute on Sunday, 13 August at 4 pm.

Krista Citra Joonas (born 1979 in Tartu) is a musician from Estonia whose main instrument has become the classical Indian flute known as the bansuri. After studying classical music from the Occident (on the saxophone) at Estonian and Swiss music academies, she turned towards the Orient and has been a student of India’s legendary flute player Pandit Hariprasade Chaurasia since 2005. Krista’s concert activity is divided primarily between Estonia, Switzerland and India. In Estonia she has collaborated more closely with a number of wonderful musicians including Jaak Johanson, Tõnis Mägi, Sven Grünberg, Meelis Vind and Arno Kalbus.

As the exhibition “Signals from the Periphery” closes, you can hear both the bansuri and the saxophone. The performance by Krista Citra Joonas will include North Indian music, Krista’s own compositions, as well as local improvised expressions and reflections.

SOOLO concerts are held in cooperation with the Tallinn Art Hall and are curated by Robert Jürjendal.

Entrance to the concert is possible with a valid exhibition ticket.
