Young Painter Prize 2026 Finalists’ Exhibition

The Young Painter Prize / YPP 2026 Finalists’ Exhibition brings together 25 emerging painters selected through this year’s international open call. YPP was founded in 2009 as an independent platform supporting a new generation of painters from the Baltic region, and today connects artists from Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Ukraine, as well as Baltic artists living abroad.

Rather than working around one prescribed exhibition theme, YPP begins with the artists themselves. The exhibition reflects the concerns, visual languages, and very different realities of a new generation of painters. Across the selected works, personal histories meet questions of identity, memory, belonging, the body, social and political experience, imagined worlds, and the changing relationship between the individual and the environment.

What connects these very different artistic positions is not a single subject, but the opportunity to see what painting means to young artists right now, and how a traditional medium continues to change, absorb new influences, and respond to contemporary life.

This year is particularly important for YPP because the finalists’ exhibition will travel through all three Baltic countries, beginning in Tallinn, continuing to Riga, and concluding in Klaipėda.
